We offer several Jackpot Capital progressive jackpot slots. We also offer a few other games that have a progressive jackpot but aren’t slots.   Whether you play progressive jackpot slots or Caribbean Poker, for example, we urge you to play safely.  That’s because progressive jackpot games tend to wear down gamers’ bankrolls faster than regular games do.

Let’s take a look.

Progressive Jackpot Slots Usually Have High Volatility

Jackpot Capital has three progressive slots: Cleopatra’s Gold, Megasaur, and Spirit of the Inca. The jackpots grow as the game provider, in our case SpinLogic, takes a penny or so from every bet to add to the progressive jackpot.

Since SpinLogic has a much wider reach world-wide than a mere online casino such as Jackpot Capital has, by taking a small amount from thousands, tens of thousands on up to at times millions of bets made somewhere in the world, whether at any of the hundreds of online casinos that carry, for instance, Cleopatra’s Gold or any of the hundreds of land-based casinos that have Cleopatra’s Gold terminals, the jackpot will grow fast.

Cleopatra’s Gold has 20 paylines.  Gamers have to play 60 coins on every spin.  As the cost of one-coin ranges from $0.01 (one cent) to $10.  Only a true high roller can place $600 on a single spin.  Still, there are a lot of high rollers who love to make these kinds of bets.

Megasaur has 25 paylines and the minimum bet is five cents per payline.  Spirit of the Inca also has 25 paylines with the same minimum bet as Megasaur.

To Win the Progressive Jackpot Gamers Have to Play the Maximum

This is one of the reasons why progressive slots have high volatility.  It can get quite expensive to play a progressive slot for an extended period of time.

What is Volatility?

Volatility expresses the basic relationship between the number of winning spins and the size of each winning spin.  A high volatility slot has relatively fewer winning spins but the average winning spin pays out more than the average in a low volatility slot.

How to Play Progressive Slots Safely

As with all casino gaming, we always strongly urge gamers to set a sound monetary budget for gaming.  If you are determined to play a progressive slot here at Jackpot Capital, we suggest setting aside perhaps five spins.  This depends, of course, on your bankroll.

We carry about 300 other great games in several game categories so there are a lot of gaming options here at Jackpot Capital.  We have a couple of hundred other slots plus table games, video poker, casual games and much more.

We also offer deposit bonuses as promotions.  In other words, while it is exciting to play a progressive jackpot slot, we think it best to treat these games like you would treat a million-dollar lottery: understand that the fun is in the excitement of the play.

Jackpot Capital Offers All Three Caribbean Poker Variations

The three Caribbean Poker games share the progressive jackpot.  Gamers qualify for the progressive jackpot by making a side bet.  Thus, it is possible to play Caribbean Poker without playing for the progressive jackpot.

In addition, the jackpot in Caribbean Poker is not a winner take all jackpot.  A Royal Flush wins the entire progressive jackpot but the higher hands such as a straight flush, four of a kind, and full house also pay out from the jackpot.  A lot of gamers love Caribbean Poker for the basic game play and many also like it for the progressive jackpot.

Caribbean Poker Game Play

The three variations are Caribbean Stud, Caribbean Draw, and Caribbean Hold’em. In each variation, the game starts in the same way: the player makes an ante bet.  Then the dealer deals the cards.  The player looks at his or her cards and has to decide whether to continue the hand or fold.

If the player continues the hand, they have to add a second bet that is double their ante bet.

Oh, That Caribbean Poker Were That Simple!

Now comes the tricky aspect in Caribbean Poker: the dealer cannot win the two bets unless he qualifies with a minimum hand.  The minimum is different in each Caribbean Poker variation but the idea is the same.  Here are the possible ways a Caribbean Poker game might go:

  1. The player folds and loses his or her ante bet.
  2. The player makes the second bet and the dealer does not qualify.  His causes the player to win the ante bet and the continuation bet is a push.
  3. The player makes the continuation bet and loses to the dealer’s qualifying better hand.  The player loses both bets.
  4. The player makes the continuation bet, the dealer qualifies, and the player’s and is better than the dealer’s hand.  The player wins both bets.

Now, pay attention to this subtlety in Caribbean Poker: If the player continues the hand and the dealer does not qualify, the player wins the ante bet even if his or her hand is worse than the dealer’s hand!

To Fold or to Continue?  That is the Question.

This leads many players to continue on every hand.  Even a very weak hand can win if the dealer doesn’t qualify.  Statistical analysis is still ongoing for Caribbean Poker so we don’t yet know what the best strategy is for every hand.  Some analysts advise folding on any hand that is weaker than the dealer’s qualifying hand for that particular variation.

This may be the best strategy but it seems counter-intuitive as a poor hand will win if the dealer does not qualify.

Part of the analytical problem is that the continuation bet is double the ante bet so gamers do accept a substantial amount of risk when they make the continuation bet.

Caribbean Poker is on of the youngest casino games.  It was developed just a couple of decades ago in….the Caribbean, of course!  The game play is so different than other casino games that Caribbean Poker is a favorite of a large and growing group of gamers.

Let em Ride

This is another poker variant with a progressive jackpot that gamers try to win with a side bet.  Jackpot Capital keeps Let em Ride since we have no space restrictions but, truth be told, the game is less popular than other poker variants such as the above-mentioned Caribbean Poker.

Let em Ride uses community cards.  These cards are turned up one at a time and the player has to decide if he or she wants to fold or continue.
