It is impossible to count cards as a deck of cards is automatically shuffled between bets. The payout for an Akbar bet is lower than for a Romeo bet but it seems that an Akbar bet is still the best bet.
Teen Patti
Here is another game most gamers have never heard of. In Teen Patti, you bet on which player will have the better three-card hand. Hand rankings are as we might expect with three-card hands except that a straight is better than a flush.

This complicates the betting since the player has to add an additional bet to stay in the hand but can win the ante bet even with a poor hand if the dealer doesn’t qualify.
This complication gets repeated in the Caribbean Poker games.
Let ‘em Ride
Here the dealer does not need to qualify; the gamer does! You get five cards and you have to have at least a pair of 10’s to win.
Caribbean Poker Has a Very Short Pedigree
The games were created in the Caribbean (of course!) in the 1980’s. Each game has basically similar rules with unique nuances. The games also share a progressive jackpot which a gamer can win with a side bet. The full jackpot goes to a Royal Flush while very high but lesser hands win a part of the jackpot.
The complication derives from the fact that the dealer has to qualify to win the hand. The player makes an ante bet and then sees his or her cards. Then you have to decide whether to make a second bet that is double the ante bet or to fold. If you fold, you lose the hand.
If you make the second bet, the dealer has to qualify to win the hand. The minimum hand for the dealer to qualify is different for each Caribbean Poker variation. Here is how the hand might play out if you make the second bet:
- The dealer qualifies. His hand beats your hand so the dealer wins both bets.
- The dealer qualifies and your hand is better. You win both bets.
- The dealer does not qualify. In that case, the second bet is a push and you win the ante bet.
A lot of gamers always make the second bet as a way to “protect” their ante bet. This is good strategy except when your hand is very poor. In that case, you would almost certainly lose both bets if the dealer qualifies. So, analysts have determined that you should require your hand to at least have a queen high for you to stay in the hand.
